Scope

Replaced electric heating system at West Sound Technical Skills Center with rooftop heat pump systems. Retrofit plumbing fixtures with water conservation devices. Installed new EMS throughout the facility; including new CO2 sensors on air handlers, occupancy sensors tied to heat and lights, and door switches on bay doors. Retrofit or replaced lighting throughout facility.

Notable Facts

  • Largely with funds remaining due to the base scope falling under budget, we created a new classroom for the Autobody area. The classroom was built in a two week period in order to accommodate instructional need for the space.
  • All work performed in occupied buildings.
  • New controls, heating & lighting systems throughout shop areas. Greatly improved comfort, indoor air quality, and energy savings.

“We felt that you did a great job and treated us with special care and service throughout the project… We wish all of our capital improvements could run this smooth!”

New Energy
Efficiency Grants

Washington

For Washington’s K-12 schools, colleges and universities there’s never been a better time to pursue energy and water conservation based facility improvements, with $100 million in competitive grants available to support these activities and create jobs. And there is no ESCo with a more successful track record of securing these competitive grants than Quantum. A pilot program in 2009 saw grants awarded to 50 school districts – 24 of which are Quantum customers. For more information on how to take advantage of the new grants, call Fritz Feiten at (206) 523-5314.
